I can not print or scan after I upgraded to Windows 10. My PC does not seem to recognise that the HP printer is attached to it. I tried the solutions at the HP website, which basically was to update the drivers and/or software.

This did not work. HP has a new printer and scanner software called print and scanner doctor. Unfortunately when I tried to install this, I received the following error message: '7- zip' is in the upper left corner of the error message. The body of this message says: 'This program is blocked by group policy. For more information, contact your system administrator.' So, I have two problems: 1.) the printer/scanne issue and 2.) the software installation that is blocked by 'group policy.'

• Click 'Start' • Click on 'Control Panel' • Double-click the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon. How do I uninstall Cool Edit Pro in Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000? Cool edit pro 21 portable free download for windows 7.

How do I fix these issues? Hello Braind, If we can resolve the first issue it may also resolve the second, regardless one thing at a time is best. Couple of questions if may Do you have the HP installation disk for the printer, if not they can be downloaded from Have you checked in the Device Manager that the Officejet 6500 E710a-f is the default printer. Have you tried completely uninstalling the printer and starting afresh, if yes, did you disconnect the printers USB cable from the computer and only reconnect it when prompted to by an on screen message. Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s. Hello Braind, For us to be able to best help you it is important that if you can you answer each question and try to stick to our suggested steps so as to avoid any confusion or mishaps Have you tried completely uninstalling the printer and starting afresh, if yes, did you disconnect the printers USB cable from the computer and only reconnect it when prompted to by an on screen message.

Can you also answer the above for us. I do have a couple of suggestions for you once we know the answer to the above. Some info for you that we have gained from your Speccy report; Your printer is detected but due to incorrect drivers being used (Windows own generic printer drivers) the connection is defaulting to LPT1 (line print terminal) and not USB, see details below that I have highlighted in blue and red; HP Officejet 6500 E710a-f (Default Printer).

If multiple icons exist for the printer, remove them all. This did not seem to work. There is no printer program listed under my Programs list on my PC. So, Step 1 was a bust. Step 2 - also a bust since after I removed the device per the instructions, the icon under Devices and Printers disappeared, but no further instructions were forthcoming. The icons were still gone after I did a reboot of my PC.
