You could just get a pen and write down the entire message, but it probably means a file could not be copied. The DVD is damaged. It doesn't take much, since there are way too many files in Windows, and the compression-expansion routine is a huge mess.

Note that, if you’re installing Windows 7, the order here is slightly different: Boot Camp will first guide you through setting up your installer USB disk, then ask you about partitioning. When you’re ready, click “Install” and Boot Camp will start downloading drivers, which it calls “Windows support software.”.

You have a few options. -- Coat the DVD with that milky goo sold at music and movie shops to repair optical discs.

-- Manually copy the missing files to the iMac's HDD from another working Windows 7 computer. -- Buy a new DVD. EDIT: Ignore Dre.

He thinks you have a BIOS. You can clean the DVD with dish washing detergent. It's just plastic.

The part that has data is a thin layer behind the label. The main clear plastic is what gets scratched. Cleaning might help, but the next step is that milky goo. Mine is called 'ClearKote'. I have used it on about 15 discs over the years, and it has worked about half the time. • Tell us some more • Upload in Progress • Upload failed. Windows On Mac:: Win7 Installation - Hangs On Expanding Files Dec 4, 2010 I can't get Windows 7 Ultimate (64bit or 32bit) to install on my mid 2010 MBP 2.4 Core2Duo 4Gb Ram 250gb hdd). I created a 40gb partition successfully, but I only have A DVD of Windows 7 Upgrade. I have an ISO (legally obtained) of the full version. When I try to install from the upgrade disc with custom installation, not upgrade, I get to 'Expanding Windows Files' and then it hangs at 0% forever. I have a 320gb external hard drive.

I have already restored my computer with Time Machine today. Still, no luck. As soon as I set it down I got an error message saying files were corrupt? (I was fairly gentle). (I haven't tried again yet as my macbook is only a day old and I want to mess around with it). Dec 22, 2010 I currently have a MacBook Pro and I am trying to put Windows OS on it using the Boot Camp option.
