Hi Glyn, Right, you have a burner and a ROM. The reason the burner isn't recognized by ECDC is that the latest TSSTCorp drive ECDC 5 knew was the TS-L632A. The Toshiba-Samsung Storage Technology Corporation have put out a few new drives since then. ECDC 5 had some rudimentary auto-sensing ability, but mainly it relied on matching a drive with one in a table provided by the Updaters. If the drive matches the table then it's 'recognized' and you can use it. We should be able to fool ECDC into recognizing your drive if you are up to a small registry edit - we'll steal the table entry for the TS-L632A drive Here's how: -Go to your Start button > Run, and run REGEDIT.exe -navigate in the registry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE Software Adaptec Adaptec Shared CDEngine Devices1 -there you should see a whole bunch [246 of them] of 'devicexxx' entries.

Device 186 is the one you want. It should show this entry for the TS-L632A drive: TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-L632A,TSSTcorp,CD/DVDW TS-L632A,DVD+-R/RW,cdrmmc.drv,178,,9 Editing: -Now, if you double-click on 'device186' an edit box should open, with that entry highlighted in blue -press right-arrow to remove the highlight, and carefully edit the entry to replace both occurrences of TS-L632A with SH-S182M, your drive's ID. Intel e210882 harakteristiki. IF YOU MAKE AN ERROR, just press Esc and go back to the start of Editing.

Nothing will be changed until you click OK so it's pretty safe. -when you're happy with the editing, click the OK button and the change will be made. Exit REGEDIT. Restart your Windows, and ECDC 5 should recognize your burner. Please be aware that ECDC doesn't handle DVD video discs, just single-layer data discs. Hi Glyn, Right, you have a burner and a ROM. Hi Brendon Done that it recognizes the drive. However to try and burn I get the following:- Record CD set up showing the drive but will not allow me to do anything. Have I done something wrong? Hi Glyn, If it recognized the drive then that part has worked. Perhaps the TS-L632A is too different from the SH-S182M for those settings to work.

You might be SOL there. Record CD set up showing the drive but will not allow me to do anything.

Can you explain a bit better what's happening there? Having gone into ECDC I select a track to record put it into the project area and press record.

I get the record cd box asking me to select the drive? The only thing in drive is the S182M If I press options i am shown the Record methods etc all of the type is in shaded grey with the exception of allow another recording? If I click this all the shaded comes up in bold withthe exception of start recording. As i have said earlier no matter what i do it will not allow me to do anything. I could print screen and send to you. I do not know how to do this on this reply/ Glyn.
