I've never need it, and I listen to and collect a metric fuck ton of music. I personally use kat.cr, TPB, or rutracker.org. You can also find specific sites dedicated to curating music you like. I follow Kingdom-Leaks and GetMetal often. They host zippyshare links to the albums they upload. Plus tech squeezebox. I'm into metal so the sites I use will be no use to you.

The comment about using Google is probably your best bet (aside from private trackers). In all honesty, I have used torrents the least for my music collection. From searching Google (i.e. *name of artist - *name of album - *320 etc.) over time, I have found some fantastic sites, blogs etc.

Which cater to my taste however, the vast majority of my music has come from ddl links. There doesn't seem to be a really great comprehensive indexing site for music which covers everything. The best ones by far I have found are all genre specific.
